Stratatech Completes Patient Enrollment in Phase I/II Clinical Trial
Stratatech Corporation (www.stratatechcorp.com) has completed patient enrollment in a Phase I/II clinical trial to evaluate StrataGraft skin tissue in the temporary management of full-thickness skin wounds that require autografting.
The goal of the study was to evaluate the safety and efficacy of StrataGraft skin tissue compared to the standard of care in patients requiring temporary skin replacement prior to autografting. The randomized, dose escalation trial assessed autograft take after two weeks in 15 patients. The multi-center clinical trial was supported in part by a Small Business Innovation Research Grant to Stratatech from the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS).
StrataGraft skin tissue is a bioengineered allogeneic skin substitute manufactured using Stratatech’s proprietary NIKS™ human keratinocytes. NIKS keratinocytes are a consistent source of pathogen-free, long-lived, human epidermal progenitor cells that recapitulate normal human skin tissue architecture and epidermal barrier function when grown in organotypic culture conditions.
