Medical Microbiology Scientist

Full Time / 40 Hours per week

Stratatech is seeking a highly-motivated, independent and team-oriented individual to join our research and development team.

Responsibilities of this position include:

•     Design, develop, and apply in vitro and in vivo methods for evaluation of antimicrobial activity in human skin substitute tissue or extracts prepared from these tissues.

•     Develop preclinical animal models of wound infection and use these models to evaluate antimicrobial efficacy of compounds, dressings, or biologics.

•     Interact with other personnel to develop and validate antimicrobial assays for use in quality control testing and lot release.

•     Advise project director of factors that may influence quality, accuracy and usefulness of data. Assist project director in the interpretation of experimental results and suggest options for additional experiments.

•     Contribute ideas and suggestions to improve standard laboratory techniques, protocols and processes. Identify and solve problems in experimental designs.

Qualifications:
Ph.D. / Masters in Microbiology, the life sciences, or a related field.
At least two (2) years experience writing technical life science related documentation required. Successful applicant will have a proven history of technical proficiency, scientific creativity, collaboration with others and independent thought. Proven presentation skills to large and small audiences. Strong organizational and multi-tasking skills are essential. Proficiency required in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
